Virgin ain’t so bad

Online reviews of Virgin Australia were mixed, but we had little trouble. Sure, it was a long, brutal 14-hour flight, but that wasn’t their fault. Good entertainment system, but as it was a redeye, we tried to sleep. Hard, in such cramped conditions.

At 10:30 pm (California time), they served dinner. Not bad.
virgin australia breakfast
Breakfast at 3:30 am by our biological clocks. Merrianne’s Fritata with grilled tomato and greens was superior to my ordinary eggs and sausage.

I watched portions of movies on the entertainment system, but soon got too sleepy. They turned off all the lights. In the dark, while I was dozing off, I crossed the equator for the first time in my life. I’m now further south than I’ve ever been, and we’ll be going further south, yet.
Made it to the airport at last.

A very helpful woman, Emma, at the currency exchange, suggested we visit the city since we had 11 hours in Brisbane. More on that in the next post. We’re boarding the plane for New Zealand in a few minutes.
