I took an aspirin the night before, hoping it would help the bee sting. Unfortunately, it only made me tired in the morning.
It was a climb out of the Virginia City Campground, then a long descent into Ennis. Surprisingly, Ennis had a Cirrus (ATM) machine! But I didn’t need any more cash at that point.

My stop the next day was the Slide Inn, near Quake Lake. Ferocious winds tore at me all day. I played the mental game of count my blessings to distract myself. Here were some of the reasons why a headwind is good:
Keeps you cool. Builds camaraderie in the pack. Eliminates most insects. Develops strong legs. Helps you to appreciate tailwinds. Reminds you to be humble. Slows you down so you can notice scenery. Gives you stories to tell later. It's a tailwind for people going the other way. Develops character and perseverance.

As Wisdom was the Mosquito campsite, and Virginia City had flies, the Quake Lake campsite featured moths.
