I wasn&#8217;t sure what the box was, but liked the size, and the heat sinks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The included heat sinks are a nice feature, as I expect that the main switch (transistor) of my design will get quite hot, as will the rectifier. I&#8217;ll probably need to enlarge some of the holes to accommodate water-tight fittings for the power cables, and may need to seal other places with liquid gasket, as any equipment going on a bicycle eventually gets rained on.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_158\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-158\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/solarbike\/files\/2014\/01\/ChassisInsideOriginal.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-158\" alt=\"Inside the Chassis\" src=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/solarbike\/files\/2014\/01\/ChassisInsideOriginal.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/solarbike\/files\/2014\/01\/ChassisInsideOriginal.jpg 640w, http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/solarbike\/files\/2014\/01\/ChassisInsideOriginal-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-158\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hmm, looks like it could have been a TV cable distribution amp of some kind. It&#8217;s old &#8211; the date codes on the parts suggest it&#8217;s from circa 1980. The power supply in the top section doesn&#8217;t even have a monolithic regulator, it uses a zener diode and common base NPN transistor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Actually, this chassis has way more space than is probably needed.
