Note at the lower left that the sample rate of this recaptured trace is 1 Msps. There also appears to be a suggestion of some ringing on the edges. Now the ringing is defined &#8211; we could even take a frequency measurement on it if we wanted to. Because the sampling buffer is very short at high sample rates, we cannot capture data this far away from the trigger &#8211; about 1 mS (1000\u00a0\u03bcS) in this case. Fortunately, this is a repetitive waveform, and we can drag or scroll the trace to a similar point closer to the trigger.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_55\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55\" style=\"width: 848px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1h.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-55\" alt=\"closer to trigger\" src=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1h.png\" width=\"848\" height=\"726\" srcset=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1h.png 848w, http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1h-150x128.png 150w, http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1h-300x256.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 848px) 100vw, 848px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-55\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This part of the trace looks exactly like the previous display, except that we are now 5.19 \u03bcS from the trigger.  We try clicking on the &#8220;run oneshot&#8221; button again.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_56\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56\" style=\"width: 848px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1i.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-56\" alt=\"at 48 Msps\" src=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1i.png\" width=\"848\" height=\"726\" srcset=\"http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1i.png 848w, http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1i-150x128.png 150w, http:\/\/pididu.com\/wordpress\/basicscope\/files\/2016\/12\/ex1i-300x256.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 848px) 100vw, 848px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-56\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This trace was taken at the limit of the hardware&#8217;s performance.  Due to noise, 48 Msps does not look much better than 16 Msps, and moreover, the sample buffer is tiny &#8211; a mere 1016 samples.  This is why some have said that, in practical terms, the 6022BE is really a 16 Msps scope.  Hantek does provide sin(x)\/x filtering to make the waveform look better, but this is turned off in BasicScope, to gain a tiny bit of performance, and because it doesn&#8217;t add any real information.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Note that although the &#8220;run oneshot&#8221; button was used in this example, we could have used &#8220;run norm&#8221; for most things.
